Jennifer Harris: McDonald’s Manager Killed on the Job; Employee Arrested
Jennifer Harris was a hardworking single mother of six who was employed at McDonald’s for 15 years, rising to management level.
Authorities say just before 8 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025, she was fatally stabbed by a fellow employee during the morning rush in Eastpointe, Michigan, just outside Detroit.
The killing was preceded by an argument in which Harris sent Afeni Badu Muhammad, also of Eastpointe, home before her shift ended.
Muhammad reportedly said, "I'll be back," before later returning to the McDonald's wearing a mask. She entered the restaurant through the employee entrance and allegedly began stabbing Harris multiple times with a knife.
Harris, who was attacked while working the drive-thru window, was in full sight of a customer, who intervened by pulling a gun on the suspect, holding her until law enforcement arrived on teh scene.
Muhammad was arraigned on Friday, July 11, in 38th District Court on charges of first-degree premeditated murder — a mandatory life without parole offense — and carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent, a five-year felony, according to Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido’s office.
She pleaded not guilty.
