Woman Shot To Death Inside Apartment Complex
On Wednesday, December 10, 2025, police say a 56-year-old man who once had a relationship with Doverspike got inside her apartment and barricaded himself inside. At some point, he suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to law enforcement.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is recovering.
When a SWAT unit descended upon the scene,, they found Doverspike just outside the apartment suffering from a gunshot wound, according to police.
Speaking to local TV station KARE11, her son Trevor described Doverspike as someone who was "well-loved," emphasizing, "I loved her, she was loved... This wasn’t just some random nobody — to others it will be, but to me, this is not something we’ll ever get over.”
Trevor said the man who was implicated in the slaying was someone his mother loved for more than 20 years.
Travor said that his mom loved her grandkids and adored her two dogs, who were constant companions in her life.
Amy's sudden passing at the Pondview Apartment Homes in Maplewood, Minnesota, has left her family in profound grief.
