Tonyetta Loveless: 42-year-Old Mother Killed in Baton Rouge

Tonyetta Loveless was found dead around noon on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023, at a Baton Rouge apartment complex one day after she turned 42 years old.

“She left behind 4 kids, two boys and two girls. I’m her oldest girl and the backbone of the family and the mom now,” Trinia Loveless told Unfiltered with Kiran. “She was an amazing woman, very loving, very caring, very helpful, outgoing, just very special. The vibe was unmatched. Everybody loved Tonyetta. There was never a dull moment with her. She will be truly missed by many.”

According to media reports, Loveless was fighting with her boyfriend, who was seen striking her and brandishing a gun toward her, the previous evening at Ivy Park Apartments on Jones Creek Road.

Her boyfriend, 39-year-old Andre Weatherspoon, is wanted on the charge of battery of a dating partner.

Deputies believe Weatherspoon is has fled the area.

Loveless’ family released the following statement after her death:

“She had a beautiful spirit, personality, and a smile that lit up the room. Leaving behind her children, and grandchildren, to grasp this pain is difficult to witness. She’s home with her mother, Linda Smith, now, so please get your rest, my angel. This sister bond will never end, I love you, baby.”

Ivy Park Apartment Complex released the following statement to Ivy Park residents about the incident:

“We are writing to address the unfortunate incident that occurred in our community. As always, the safety and well-being of our residents in our primary concern, and we want to provide you with the most accurate information available.

As of now, we are actively cooperating with law enforcement as they conduct their investigation. Preliminary information suggests that this was not a random incident and was not a resident of our community.

In response to this incident, we are taking immediate steps to enhance our security measures onsite. Additionally, we encourage residents to contact the police at (225)389-4869 or Crime Stoppers at (225)344-7867 if they possess any helpful information related to the incident. Our courtesy officer, Patrick, who is also a resident of the property, will be patrolling the property throughout the evening and police patrol will be on-site overnight for the next few days.
