Shakeira Yvonne Rucker, 37, of Winter Springs, Florida, was last seen at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023, leaving her home. Her family told law enforcement that Rucker left with her estranged husband,Cory Hill, to an unknown destination.

Rucker’s body was found Saturday, Nov. 25, 2023, in a storage unit at a facility in nearby Apopka. Police arrived on the scene after someone called in a bad odor coming from the units.

When police did some investigating, they discovered that the storage unit belonged to Hill.

Before law enforcement could contact him, Hill was reportedly involved in an incident in which he brandished a firearm and allegedly fired shots in the vicinity of a woman and her family members. He was arrested on attempted murder charges.

Before Rucker’s body was found,  Winter Springs police released photos from surveillance video that showed her and Hill at a restaurant in Polk County on the evening she was last seen.
