Faun Reese: 54-Year-Old Louisiana Woman Stabbed To Death
Faun Reese, 54, was found dead in her Baton Rouge home from a fatal stab wound. Police later arrested her live-in boyfriend in connection with her death.
Family members had not heard from Reese for several days and requested a welfare check. On Tuesday, Aug. 25, officers responding to the 8200 block of Cypress Road found Reese and 66-year-old Garry Miles incapacitated in bed. Reese had suffered a fatal stab wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. Miles was taken to a hospital in serious condition and later treated for a drug overdose.
Baton Rouge police said detectives identified Miles as a suspect during the investigation. After his release from the hospital, he was arrested Friday, Aug. 28, and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of second-degree murder and illegal use of weapons. Those charges remain allegations.
Police have described the case as a possible domestic incident and said they do not believe a third person was involved. Authorities also noted that Miles had numerous prior arrests in California for violating protective orders meant to prevent domestic violence; those earlier cases were misdemeanors.
