Isis Williams: Mother Of 3 Shot Dead In Front Of Newborn In Philadelphia

In the early morning hours of Friday, December 14, 2018, police found the body of Isis William, 25, with a bullethole in the head. Her boyfriend has been charged with murder.

Isis Williams, 25, was on the phone with her mother when gunshots rang out around 4 a.m. on a chilly winter morning in Philaelphia. The mother of three was focused on her family. During a remembrance vigil, friends and family said that

"She was funny. Her laugh made everyone laugh," according to her cousin Amara Thornton. "Positive about everything."

Williams had given birth less than a week ago, her body still adjusting to its newfound state. But she had trouble in her life. Williams was in an abusive relationship, family members said.

And so, through domestic violence, trouble and then tragedy struck. Neighbors reported that they heard a loud argument and that a male voice was calling Williams "derogatory names."

In the early morning hours of Friday, December 14, 2018, police found the body of Williams with a bullethole in the head. Furniture had been overturned and items thrown asunder. The new mother's 5-day-old baby was just feet away in the crib.

Police say 33-year-old Tyrese Lynch surrendered to Philadelphia authorities after a weekend on the run. He is accused of shooting Williams to death.

Williams' aunt, Aspara Agyeman, said that the victim's mother heard the gun ring out through the phone.

Her mother heard the shots," Agyeman told ABC 13.

"Even though I may be the one that ends up raising her, she's gonna know that Isis is her mother and that she was loved," she was quoted as saying.

GoFundMe set up for Williams' funeral costs says this:

I don’t even know where to start, but for a while now my cousin was in an abusive relationship with her baby father. She tried leaving him multiples times as she slept in her car or at a family member house from time to time. She had recently went back to him while giving birth to her 3rd daughter on December 9th 2018. She had been discharged from the hospital 2 days later. She could only spend 5 days with her daughter before she was brutally killed by her baby father and haven’t even seen her other two daughters before her death. Please we are asking anybody to help us lay her to rest she didn’t deserve this and should get a proper burial. Any amount of money will help assure her a proper burial and help take care of her babies as much as possible.”
