Sade Dixon: Pregnant mother, 23, gunned down by ex-boyfriend in Florida

Sade Dixon, 23, was shot to death at close range on 12/13/16 by her ex-boyfriend, according to Orlando, Florida police. She was three months pregnant. Her brother was wounded in the attack. 

Sade Dixon was a hardworking mother to her 8-year-old and 2-year-old children. She had goals and things she wanted to accomplish in life, things she wanted to do for her kids. She had life to live. So when she opened the front door to her Florida residence, little did she know her she would be staring death in the face.

Orange County, Florida police say her ex-boyfriend opened fire on Dixon and her brother at her Orlando residence, shooting as many as 10 times. Dixon was fatally wounded. She was three months pregnant.

“It was like ‘pow, pow, pow, pow, pow,” neighbor Jim Baptiste told an Orlando TV station.

When he rushed over to see what was going on, he said the victim's mother was in a panic.

"She was very, very hysteric, emotional. Using words like, ‘You need to come now, my kids are on the ground,'" Baptiste told ClickonOrlando.com.

Her brother, Ron Stewart, is in critical condition at the local hospital.

The 24-year-old pregnant mother of two was shot and killed by her ex-boyfriend, and her brother was shot and critically injured while coming to her rescue, Orange County deputies said.

“She was a phenomenal woman. She did everything she possibly could for her children,” said Dixon-Daniels.

"She had goals," said Dixon-Daniels told local media on the scene. "Once she set her mind to it, she had her way to go get it."Daniels said his daughter was a "fantastic, phenomenal, awesome, one-of-a-kind" mother."She was upbeat, outgoing and fun," he said. "She was just a joyous person."

The suspect, Markeith Loyd, 41, a convicted felon, spent four years behind bars for beating an law enforcement officer. He reportedly has been arrested more than 20 times since 1994.

Loyd reportedly posted messages on social media, purportedly about his relationship with Dixon.

He posted this on Monday, according to Inside Edition, Loyd posted: “All I want is the truth, could care less (sic)bout anything else … The TRUTH is what really matters cause the devil is a LIE ... Building a relationship off of truth can last a life time but ones built off of lies is headed for self-destruction.”

"She was such a sweet woman," a neighbor was quoted as saying. "It's just a bad situation."

“I don't even know where to go. Right now I'm just numb,” Dixon’s mother, Stephanie Dixon-Daniels, told WFTV.

"We don't want nobody retaliating, keeping it real for the 'hood', because the 'hood' ain't bringing my child back," her father Ron Daniels told the TV station.

Police said the suspect is armed and dangerous.
