Sharika Bowman: 35-Year-Old Mother Of 5 Shot Dead At Stone Mountain Home
Sharika Bowman was a mother of five children trying her best to make ends meet in Stone Mountain, Georgia. "She was on the road to making a better life for herself and her children," a family member told 11Alive.
On Friday morning, March 30, 2018, Bowman was shot dead in her home while some of her children were at the DeKalb County residence. Authorities learned about the shooting because of Bowman's 13-year-old son, who call police at the scene.
When officers arrived, they found Bowman slumped inside her SUV. She had been shot several times, according to the TV station.
Her boyfriend, 30-year-old Keitran Foots, was arrested in North Carolina, DeKalb County law enforcement officials said April 2. The suspect is awaiting extradition to Georgia.
One of her children was just one month old. Another was one 1 year old. Foots is the father of two of her children, police told WXIA.
“As she sat in her SUV in the driveway, Foots approached her with a gun and fired multiple gunshots into the vehicle,” police Lt. Lonzy Robertson said, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The incident happened about 10 a.m. Friday, authorities said. As Bowman sat her in SUV in her driveway, police said that Foots came up to her and shot multiple times into her vehicle, killing her.
